In a tragic road accident, four people were killed after a speeding Bolero SUV collided with a parked truck at Tetelia in Dimoria on Friday.
According to preliminary reports, the accident took place at the 22 Miles area along NH-10 when the Bolero, bearing registration number AR01-Q-0042, reportedly rammed into a stationary truck with great force.
Police said the vehicle was travelling from Jagiroad at high speed when the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that all four occupants of the Bolero died on the spot.
The deceased included three men and one woman. Their identities had not been officially released at the time of reporting.
Sources said the vehicle involved in the accident was marked as a Government of Arunachal Pradesh vehicle.
Police personnel rushed to the scene soon after receiving information about the crash and initiated rescue and recovery operations. The bodies were later recovered from the mangled vehicle and sent for necessary legal formalities.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether over-speeding or other factors contributed to the collision.
The incident once again highlights concerns over road safety and speeding on national highways in the region.
