Footballer Alen Deory was felicitated by the Assam Olympic Association at the closing ceremony of the Assam Youth Olympics at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on Wednesday evening.
Deory received a cheque of rupees 1 lakh at the same event from Assam Olympic Association for his training purposes. The cheque was jointly handed over to Alen Deory by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Alen Deory, who represented the Indian team, is currently injured. Due to which, the international has not played for any major club.
Alen Deory met the Chief Minister after the ceremony and requested for government employment and the Chief Minister assured the international footballer of employment. Alen Deory, a Tiwa footballer, also played for Indian Super League (ISL) clubs North East United and Mumbai City.
