The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour made its inaugural stop in Guwahati, celebrating the city’s cricketing passion ahead of the global event India will host for the first time.
Over a six-day journey beginning August 31, the trophy visited some of Guwahati’s most iconic and culturally rich landmarks. Highlights included the War Memorial, the historic Northbrook Gate, and a scenic ferry ride from Fancy Bazar Ghat across the Brahmaputra River at sunset. The tour concluded at the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Center, drawing fans and symbolizing the city’s growing international profile.
A special feature of the Guwahati leg was its engagement with schools. Students at six institutions, including NPS International School and SBOA Public School, welcomed the trophy with enthusiasm, participating in cricket-themed games and interactive activities designed to inspire the next generation of players.
The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will be played from September 30 to November 2, with ticket prices starting as low as ₹100 (approximately USD 1.14)—the most affordable entry point in ICC tournament history, ensuring broad accessibility for fans.
After leaving Guwahati, the trophy has continued its journey to Visakhapatnam and will travel through other Indian and Sri Lankan cities in the lead-up to the tournament.
Officials said the trophy tour is not just a promotional event but also a celebration of cricket’s unifying power, with Guwahati now firmly in the spotlight as it prepares to host matches of the women’s game’s most prestigious tournament.
