Several Assam ministers, members of autonomous councils and the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly will hoist the National Flag at designated locations across the state on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.

According to the official programme, Assam Minister Rameswar Teli will hoist the National Flag in Tinsukia, while Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Atul Bora will lead the ceremony in Jorhat. Transport Minister Charan Boro will hoist the flag in Barpeta and Tourism Minister Ajanta Neog will lead the Independence Day ceremony in Golaghat.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Ashwini Ray Sarkar will hoist the National Flag in Bongaigaon, while Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashok Singhal will do so in Darrang. Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah will lead the ceremony in Sivasagar, and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Biswajit Daimary will hoist the National Flag in Sonitpur.

Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah will hoist the National Flag in Nalbari, while Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai will lead the ceremony in Silchar. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Keshab Mahanta will hoist the National Flag in Lakhimpur, and Public Health Engineering Minister Krishnendu Paul will lead the ceremony in Sribhumi.

Fisheries Minister Nilima Devi will hoist the National Flag in Goalpara, while Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika will lead the ceremony in Nagaon. School Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu will hoist the flag in Dhemaji, and Water Resources Minister Susanta Borgohain will lead the Independence Day ceremony in Dibrugarh.

The programme also includes the heads and executive members of Assam's autonomous councils. BTC Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary will hoist the National Flag in Kokrajhar, while KAAC Chief Executive Member Dr Tuliram Ronghang will lead the ceremony in Diphu. NCHAC Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa will hoist the flag in Haflong.

Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Dr Habbey Teron will hoist the National Flag in West Karbi Anglong. BTC Executive Members James Basumatary, Augustus Tigga and Maheswar Basumatary will lead ceremonies in Kajalgaon in Chirang, Mushalpur in Baksa and Tamulpur in Udalguri respectively.

At the subdivision level, KAAC Speaker Raju Tisso will hoist the National Flag in Bokajan. BTC Executive Member Mritunjoy Narzary will lead the ceremony in Gossaigaon, while Executive Members Moon Moon Brahma, Dhiraj Borgoyary, Begum Aktara Ahmed and Lwmsrao Daimary will hoist the flag in Parbatjhora, Bijni, Salbari and Bhergaon respectively.

NCHAC Executive Member Projith Hojai will hoist the National Flag in Maibong.

The designated locations cover districts and subdivisions across Assam, with ministers and representatives of autonomous councils assigned to lead Independence Day celebrations in their respective locations.
