The new annexe will add 24 rooms along with a dedicated hall for meetings, significantly boosting the state’s hospitality capacity in the national capital. The expansion addresses growing demand from Meghalaya residents travelling to Delhi for official work, medical treatment, education, and other purposes.
The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain the highest standards of service at the facility. “Officials have been directed to ensure that the highest standards of service are provided to visitors, so that people travelling to Delhi have access to comfortable and well-managed accommodation,” the CM stated.
State Bhawans in New Delhi serve as crucial support infrastructure for citizens visiting the capital from distant states. For residents of Meghalaya, the expanded facility will provide familiar, affordable, and well-managed lodging options in an otherwise expensive metropolitan city.
The annexe construction reflects the state government’s commitment to improving amenities for its citizens and ensuring they have reliable accommodation when visiting the national capital for various needs.
