Football legend Lionel Messi is expected to visit the Vantara wildlife and rescue centre in Jamnagar on Monday, capping his GOAT India Tour with a stop at one of the country’s most ambitious conservation projects.
Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani will host Messi and his Inter Miami teammates at the sprawling facility, where the group is expected to stay overnight.
Messi joins an impressive roster of global dignitaries who have toured Vantara in recent months. Donald Trump Jr visited last month and praised the centre’s scale and conservation vision. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also toured the facility earlier this year.
The Jamnagar visit follows Messi’s appearance in New Delhi earlier Monday, the concluding event of his GOAT India Tour 2025. The Argentine star arrived in the capital under tight security after drawing massive crowds at a Mumbai event on December 14.
World-Class Conservation Hub
Vantara, certified under the Global Humane Society’s animal welfare programme, integrates care for animals outside their natural habitats with broader ecosystem conservation. The centre focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, research, captive breeding, and reintroduction of threatened species.
Its facilities include a state-of-the-art animal hospital spanning over one lakh square feet, equipped with MRI and CT scan units, an intensive care unit, endoscopy suites, dialysis support, and advanced OR1 surgical technology—infrastructure rivaling top human medical centres.
The visit underscores Vantara’s growing profile as a destination that attracts global attention for its conservation mission.
