Madhya Pradesh Bus Accident: 13 killed when a passenger bus fell from a bridge into a river

In a tragic incident, a passenger bus carrying almost 50 passengers fell into Narmada river this morning. The bus was traveling from Indore to Pune. The bodies of 13 people have been recovered from the scene. 15 people were rescued alive.

The accident occurred when the bus slipped on a rain-soaked road. The accident took place on the Agra-Mumbai highway in Thar district of Madhya Pradesh.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister expressed condolences after the accident. “A team from the district administration has arrived at the scene. The bus was lifted from the river. We are in constant contact with the Ghargon and Thar district administrations. The injured have been ordered to receive treatment,” he said.

आज खलघाट में हुई भीषण बस दुर्घटना में शोकाकुल परिजनों के साथ मैं और पूरी सरकार साथ खड़ी है।

मृतकों के परिवारजनों को मध्यप्रदेश शासन की ओर से 4-4 लाख रुपए की राहत राशि प्रदान की जायेगी।

शोकाकुल परिवार स्वयं को अकेला न समझे, दु:ख की इस घड़ी में हम सब साथ हैं।

As per reports the bus was carrying 40 passengers. The death toll is expected to rise.
