Two exciting Group A men’s football matches marked the second day of the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, with Meghalaya delivering a commanding 10-1 victory over Chandigarh while Odisha secured a solid 2-0 win against West Bengal at separate venues in Begusarai, Bihar.

The day’s most impressive performance came at the IOCL Barauni Refinery Stadium, where Meghalaya displayed overwhelming dominance against Chandigarh in a remarkably one-sided contest. The Meghalaya squad established control early, netting two goals within the first ten minutes through Damitre Kyajing (7th minute) and Bangonson Nanjipling (10th minute), setting the tone for what would become a goal festival.

Ehsanbuk Bhupang emerged as one of the standout players for Meghalaya, completing a hat-trick with goals in the 19th, 44th, and 53rd minutes. The scoring continued relentlessly as Sohlinstar Syankil (60th minute) and Lovingstar Suting (62nd minute) extended Meghalaya’s lead further.

Substitute Samborlang Langte made a spectacular impact off the bench, netting three goals in the 77th, 82nd, and 87th minutes to complete his own hat-trick and push the final score to an emphatic 10-1. Chandigarh’s lone consolation goal came through Nodit in the 47th minute, providing little relief in an otherwise overwhelming defeat.

Meanwhile, at Yamuna Bhagat Stadium in Khel Gaon Barauni, Teghra, Odisha claimed a well-deserved 2-0 victory over West Bengal in a more closely contested but still decisive match. Vaiketesh Oram proved to be the hero for Odisha, scoring both goals – the first in the 36th minute before the halftime break and the second in the 77th minute to secure the win.

The match featured its share of disciplinary issues, with a total of five yellow cards issued by the referee. Odisha’s Akash Shaho received a caution in the 69th minute, while West Bengal had four players booked: Devamoye Chakraborty (23rd minute), Sujay Pal (43rd minute), Zahir Hussain Sardar (46th minute), and SK Jiobul Hussain (84th minute).
