Deepti Sharma, the Indian women’s team all-rounder, has achieved a remarkable milestone in T20 cricket, securing a rare feat that puts her in the league of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. Deepti Sharma has become the first Indian cricketer to accomplish the milestone of scoring 1,000 runs and taking a hundred wickets in T20s.

This historic achievement was marked during the second T20 match against Australia at the DY Patil Stadium. Deepti Sharma’s impactful performance in the match included rescuing the team with a valuable contribution of 30 runs with the bat when India faced a challenging situation. Additionally, she showcased her bowling prowess by taking two crucial wickets.

Despite Deepti’s efforts, the Australian team, led by Elisa Perry (34 not out) and Phoebe Lichfield (18 not out), emerged victorious, leveling the series. Deepti Sharma’s dual capability in both batting and bowling sets her apart, securing a place among the elite Indian cricketers who have excelled in T20 cricket.

Virat Kohli, with 4,008 runs in 115 matches, holds the record for the highest run-scorer in T20s among Indian cricketers. Following him is Rohit Sharma with 3,853 runs. In the bowling department, Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar hold the second and third positions, respectively, with 96 and 90 wickets. Deepti Sharma’s achievement adds a new chapter to Indian cricket, highlighting her versatility and impact in the T20 format.
