The sepaktakraw team clinched gold in the boys’ doubles event, while Dharmajyoti Dewgharia secured bronze in weightlifting, further solidifying Assam’s strong presence at the national youth sports competition.
The sepaktakraw team comprising A Prince Singha, H Manganthoibasingha, and M Abhijeet Singha displayed exceptional skill and coordination to claim the top spot in the doubles event. Their victory highlights Assam’s traditional strength in this Southeast Asian sport, which combines elements of volleyball, soccer, and martial arts.
In the weightlifting arena, Dharmajyoti Dewgharia added to Assam’s medal count by securing bronze in the below 55 kg category, demonstrating the state’s growing competitiveness across diverse sporting disciplines.
With these latest achievements, Assam’s medal count at the Khelo India Youth Games has now increased to an impressive eight medals: five gold, one silver, and two bronze.
