The Indian Army has launched a major drone attack on the camps of the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent), or ULFA-I, located in Myanmar. According to sources, the assault took place in the early hours of July 13, targeting four key ULFA-I camps. The Indian Army reportedly deployed over 100 drones in this operation.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the attack resulted in the deaths of several ULFA-I cadres. Among the casualties is Lieutenant General Nayan Asom, a senior commander of the outfit’s military wing, whose death has been reported by various sources. However, the exact number of casualties remains unclear.

The Indian Army is said to have conducted the drone strikes from Indian soil. The ULFA-I camps are located in remote areas of Myanmar, where the outfit has been operating for years. This attack is seen as a strategic move by the Indian Army to strengthen security along the border regions.

No official statements have been released by either ULFA-I or the Indian Army regarding the incident. Analysts suggest that this operation could have significant implications for the security situation in Assam and Northeast India.

The strike has raised concerns about the potential escalation of tensions along the India-Myanmar border. Local authorities and security forces are closely monitoring the situation.
