Bharat Bhushan Deb Chowdhury is the new Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission

Senior IAS officer Bharat Bhushan Deb Chowdhury was appointed as the state government’s new Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission today.

He currently serves as the Secretary, Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam.

Bharat Bhushan Deb Chowdhury, brother of prominent writer Phanindra Kumar Deb Chowdhury, was the first Commissioner of the newly formed Bajali district, including Nalbari.

It is the first time a person from the Assam Civil Service (currently nominated to the Indian Administrative Service) has been appointed to the post.

The acting Chairman has run the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) for a long time.

About APSC –

The Assam Public Service Commission is a state recruitment agency for the recruitment of Group ‘A’ officers and Group ‘B’ officers for the Government of Assam and all state government establishments under the Government of Assam, which also includes state public sector units and autonomous state bodies.
