PV Sindhu won gold, got first golden success in Commonwealth Games

Another gold medal has been confirmed for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022. This time the country got the gold medal due to women’s badminton star PV Sindhu. PV Sindhu defeated the Canadian shuttler in straight games in the gold medal match and hoisted the tricolor in Birmingham.

This is India’s 19th gold medal won at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. At the same time, this is the first time that PV Sindhu has become the Commonwealth Games champion in the singles event of women’s badminton.

PV Sindhu defeated Canadian shuttler Lee in straight games. They won the first game 21-15, while in the second game they won 21-13. This is also India’s first gold medal won in the Commonwealth Games 2022 badminton event.

PV Sindhu did not have to struggle much to win the Commonwealth Games gold. The tough competition he expected from the Canadian shuttler was not met at all. PV Sindhu’s experience completely dominated Canada’s Michelle Lee. Using his experience, he easily won the gold medal match.
