A bus carrying poll workers and security personnel reportedly crashed into the woods in the Wokha district, resulting in the deaths of one person and injuries to 13 others, as reported by the Nagaland Police. The authorities have reported that the driver of the bus has passed away.
Among the injured were one member of the Nagaland Armed Police as well as eight members of the Jharkhand Armed Police.
The event was reported to have taken place on a Sunday afternoon, as stated by the police. According to the Director-General of Police (DGP) for the state of Nagaland, “a driver was killed and 13 injured after a bus carrying poll workers and security officers tumbled down a hill into a bush in Wokha district on Sunday afternoon.” The incident occurred in Wokha district.
Voting in two important states located in the northeastern region of the country, Meghalaya and Nagaland, got underway at 7 a.m. today and will continue till 4 p.m. today.
