Seven Territorial Army personnel have been reported killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Manipur. At the same time, 19 people were rescued safely, but 55 people whose search is on are still missing. According to information provided by the North East Frontier Railway, a massive landslide caused by incessant rains has damaged the Tupul station building of the Jiribam-Imphal new line project. Also, the track construction work has suffered massive damage due to landslides.
According to the reports, the people injured in the accident are being treated at Noney Army Medical Unit. Rescue operations are facing various hurdles due to bad weather and recent landslides. Many people were also advised not to travel on National Highway-37 due to incessant rains in the last few days.
After the horrific landslide in Manipur’s Noney district, the state’s Chief Minister N. Biren Singh called an emergency meeting. Along with assessing the situation, he said the rescue work was happening on the spot. He urged everyone to pray for the victims. Also, Biren Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Rescue teams of NDRF, SDRF, State Government, and Railways have reached the spot after the landslide accident. The accident happened in the area of Noney in Manipur. The work of the Jiribam-Imphal new line project was going on at Tupul station here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation in Manipur’s Noney district after the landslide and assured all possible support from his government in talks with Chief Minister N Biren Singh. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also expressed grief over the accident.

Giving information about the latest situation after the accident, state DGP P Doungel said that we are working hard for the rescue work. But due to rain and other reasons we are facing many problems. He said that this was the main Tulum station where the train was supposed to stop. Since the accident, 13 bodies have been recovered so far.
