Manik Saha to take oath as Chief Minister of Tripura today in presence of Amit Shah and JP Nadda

Manik Saha, a dentist-turned-politician who drove the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to come to power in Tripura for a consecutive term, is all set to become the Chief Minister of the northeast state for the second time. Prior to becoming the Chief Minister, Saha was a Rajya Sabha MP and chairman of the party in the state. In the midst of a competitive race in the northeast state’s assembly elections, Saha seized Biplab Kumar Deb’s place as party leader last year.

Saha, a dentist, left the Congress in 2016 and subsequently joined the BJP. He became the party’s leader in 2020, and in March 2022, he won a seat in the Rajya Sabha. Manik Saha will take the oath as Tripura’s Chief Minister for a second time on Wednesday following the BJP’s victory in the state’s most recent Assembly elections.
