A video of a heart-wrenching incident from Nagaland is rapidly going viral on social media, in which a rare Indian hornbill bird was brutally tortured to death.

The Wildlife Department took cognizance of the matter after the video of the incident went viral, and the Nagaland Police has arrested three people so far.

In a viral video, a rare hornbill bird is shown beaten by a stick and brutally killing it.

The incident is being told in the Wokha district of Nagaland. Although the Nagaland Police did not reveal the identities of the arrested persons, online users have expressed concern about appropriate action to protect and conserve the endangered wildlife.
