Lajja Ram Bishnoi, director general of police for Meghalaya, became the first DGP level officer of India to successfully accomplish five parajumps from a height of 5000 feet at Hindan Airbase, which was a source of pride for the whole Northeast.
Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, congratulated the top police official on his accomplishments on Twitter, writing, “Many congratulations to @lrbishnoiips,DGP @MeghalayaPolice on successfully completing five Parajumps from 5000 feet heights at Hindan airbase. India’s first DGP rank officer to do it. I hope he has more courage and success!”

One of the biggest and largest air bases in Asia is the Hindan Airbase, which is a base of the Indian Air Force under the Western Air Command (WAC).
The airfield is situated in the National Capital Region, on the outskirts of Delhi, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, close to Loni Ghaziabad and the Hindon River.
The Director General of Police for Meghalaya is Lajja Ram Bishnoi, an IPS officer from the 1991 graduating class from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
Bishnoi served as the Special Director General of the Assam Police. (Training and Armed Police). Idashisha Nongrang, the acting DGP of Meghalaya, would relinquish the position to Bishnoi.
