All the laborers hailed from Assam and were engaged by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) to build a road near the Chinese border in Arunachal Pradesh. After not getting leave from the contractor to go home, he left for Assam on foot.

According to media reports, these laborers went missing in the forests of Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal. It is feared that all of them drowned in the river while crossing the Kumey river. There has also been talk of finding a dead body. At present, the rescue is going on.

The team engaged in the rescue has also expressed the possibility of drowning while crossing the river. However, it is not known when the laborers drowned in the Kumey river. Their family members also do not have any information. It has come to know that a week ago, he had left for home on foot. Kumey river falls on the way. Therefore, there must have been an accident while crossing it.
