Uttarkashi Bus Accident: Fatal Road accident took at least 26, 4 seriously injured

On Sunday Evening, at least 26 people lost their life and 4 were seriously injured in a fatal road mishap after a bus coming from MP’s panna district fell into a deep gulf in Uttarkashi. The passengers were mostly pilgrims who were going to Char Dham Yatra.

Uttarkashi Bus Accident – How did the incident happen?

According to media coverage, the accident occurred near Rikhavu khadd on the way to the Himalayan shrine around two kilometres from the Damta area on NH-94. The mishap happened at around 7.15 p.m. after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.

The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the accident in Uttarakhand. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each.
