Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to dedicate multiple development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore to the nation during his visit to Bikaner, Rajasthan, on May 22. The comprehensive infrastructure package spans several key sectors including railways, roadways, power, water, and renewable energy, aimed at transforming the state’s development landscape.
A significant highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit will be the inauguration of 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations spread across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories. These stations are part of the broader Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, under which over 1,300 railway stations nationwide are being modernized with enhanced passenger amenities while showcasing regional architectural styles.
The Prime Minister will also flag off the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express train, improving connectivity between Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the strategic Churu-Sadulpur rail line and dedicate five major rail electrification projects to the nation, including Suratgarh-Phalodi, Phulera-Degana, Udaipur-Himmatnagar, Phalodi-Jaisalmer, and Samdari-Barmer sections.
Road infrastructure in Rajasthan will receive a substantial boost with the Prime Minister laying the foundation stone for three vehicular underpasses and the widening and strengthening of National Highways. He will also dedicate seven completed road projects valued at over ₹4,850 crore. These highway developments hold strategic importance as they extend to the Indo-Pakistan border, enhancing accessibility for security forces and strengthening the country’s defense infrastructure.
In the energy sector, PM Modi will launch several renewable energy initiatives, including laying the foundation stone for solar projects at Bikaner and Nawa in Didwana Kuchaman. He will also inaugurate the completed solar project at Bikaner and the augmentation of transformation capacity at Fatehgarh-II Power Station. These projects align with India’s climate goals by providing clean energy and reducing carbon emissions.
The visit will also see the Prime Minister laying the foundation stone, inaugurating, and dedicating 25 important state government projects across Rajasthan. These include upgrades to 12 state highways covering a total length of over 750 kilometers, worth more than ₹3,240 crore, along with power projects at Bikaner and Udaipur.
Healthcare infrastructure will be enhanced with the inauguration of Nursing Colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur. Water infrastructure will also receive attention, with the Prime Minister launching various projects including a rural water supply and fluorosis mitigation project in Jhunjhunu district and the restructuring of urban water supply schemes in seven towns of Pali District under AMRUT 2.0.
