Now you can book an Uber ride over WhatsApp that too in Hindi – Here’s how

Uber has introduced an exceptional facility for riders in Delhi-NCR. Uber has announced the launch and expansion of its WhatsApp to Ride (WA2R) product feature for users in Delhi-NCR, one of the most important cities in terms of volume.

With this feature, riders in Delhi-NCR can book rides through the official chatbot of WhatsApp, one of India’s most popular chat apps.

After a successful pilot conducted in Lucknow in December last year, Uber is now preparing to give a better experience to the people by launching this feature in Delhi-NCR.

It is worth mentioning that the pilot conducted in Lucknow revealed that WA2R customers are younger than the average Uber app user and 50 percent are below 25 years of age.

In this pilot, 33 per cent of the orders were received from new users, which shows the potential of this alliance to acquire new users. With the expansion of this partnership between Uber and WhatsApp in Delhi-NCR, WA2R will be able to offer the Uber experience even in markets that did not previously have this feature.

Commenting on the new feature, Manikandan Tangratnam, Senior Director, Uber Mobility & Platforms, said, “Inspired by the positive response we have received from our Lucknow pilot, we are excited to bring the WhatsApp to Ride experience to Delhi-NCR. Our engineers at Bangalore Tech Center have worked tirelessly to create this product. In line with the local market’s needs, this team has provided Hindi language support for booking rides through WhatsApp.

He added that – Particular emphasis was placed on making the booking process more interactive with buttons and go-to actions. WA2R will be further developed in the future, and existing users of the Uber app will also be given the facility to book trips through WhatsApp.
