A director in the Lok Sabha Secretariat was allegedly found dead at his apartment in a housing society in Noida, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide. The incident came to light on Sunday at Kendriya Vihar-II Society in Sector 82, where Gaurav Gautam was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his flat.

According to police, the matter was reported after a nearby hospital informed authorities that Gautam had been brought in and was declared dead on arrival. Officials from the Phase-2 police station subsequently reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

During the initial inquiry, police recovered a purported suicide note from the apartment. The note reportedly refers to a loan, and its contents are currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the note or the circumstances surrounding the alleged financial issue.

Police said Gautam's wife had gone to her parental home. Upon returning, she found the apartment locked from inside. Suspecting that something was wrong, she sought assistance from a security guard to gain access to the flat. After entering the apartment, she found Gautam hanging and immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, local police and a forensic team inspected the apartment and collected evidence from the scene. After completing the required inquest proceedings, the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and that all aspects of the case, including the contents of the purported suicide note, are being examined before drawing any conclusions.
