Kshama Bindu is set to marry herself in India’s first sologamy – more details inside

Kshama Bindu

A wedding is a ritual of two souls. Especially in India, it is a celebration cum ritual that every girl dreams about. But did you hear that a person can marry themselves?

Well, the same incident is going to happen in India’s Vadodara. Probably this is the first-ever sologamy marriage in India.

24-year-old Kshama Bindu is set to tie her knot to herself on June 11. The preparation is going on, and even she booked her favorite lehenga for herself and distributed the wedding invitations.

Kshama has done her graduation in Sociology and is currently working as Senior Recruitment Officer in a private company. Both her parents are engineers. Her father is in South Africa, and her mother stays in Ahmedabad.

What is Sologamy?

Sologamy or autogamy is marriage by a person to themselves. Supporters of the practice argue that it affirms one’s value and leads to a happier life.

Ceremonies in a self-marriage may take almost the same form as traditional marriage, which includes guests, rituals, and a reception.

Self-marriage has become increasingly popular in the 21st century, especially among affluent women.
