A disturbing incident onboard an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata has gone viral after a passenger was caught on camera slapping another man who was experiencing a panic attack, prompting swift condemnation from the airline.
The assault, which occurred mid-flight while cabin crew were assisting the distressed passenger, was unprovoked and recorded by fellow travelers. IndiGo confirmed the accused was handed over to security authorities upon landing.
In the video, the accused is seen striking the distressed passenger as air hostesses try to calm him. When confronted by another passenger about the slap, the man offered a vague justification, saying, “I was having problem.”

IndiGo released a formal statement following the incident, stating that the airline maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward unruly behavior. “Such conduct is completely unacceptable. The individual was identified as unruly and was handed over to security agencies upon arrival,” the statement read.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism online, with many calling for stricter penalties for in-flight violence and better training for handling medical or psychological emergencies.
As of now, no police complaint has been confirmed, and authorities are expected to take further action based on the investigation.
