Breaking – Lalit Hotel Mumbai receives Bomb Threat Call Demanding Rs 5 Cr.

On Tuesday, the Lalit hotel in Mumbai received a bomb threat call demanding an amount of Rs 5 crore. According to the Mumbai Police, an unidentified person called the hotel and said bombs had been kept at four places in the hotel and that the caller demanded Rs 5 crore defuse them.

Under section 336, 507 of IPC, a case has been registered at the Sahar Airport Police Station, according to Mumbai Police.

This threat call was received just a couple of days after the city police had received a 26/11-like terrorist attack threat from several Pakistan. The city Commissioner of Police Vivek Phansalkar said that the Mumbai Police immediately formed three teams of Crime Branch to investigate the matter. At the same time, other states and central agencies are also involved in these operations.

Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar said, “We are not taking the threat lightly. Any call we receive, we treat it seriously. In the past several of them have turned out to be hoaxes,”.

Phansalkar told the media, “Mumbaikars should not panic. We are probing the issue from all angles, and the Crime Branch is investigating it. Nothing will happen; we shall keep the city safe,”.
