In many places in Bihar, youths have set trains on fire. There was an uproar in some cities of Uttar Pradesh too. A police station in Aligarh was also set on fire.

At the same time, the incident of the death of one person has come to the fore during the demonstration in Telangana. Along with this, the fire of violence was also seen in many cities of Haryana.

1. Despite increasing protests against the Scheme across the country, the situation in Delhi remained relatively peaceful. Activists of various student organizations took to the streets in Delhi on Friday against the new scheme ‘Agneepath’ for enlistment in the armed forces, leading to the closure of the gates of some metro stations. Delhi Police said that no permission was given to these groups to hold the protest. At the same time, the police cracked down on demonstrations by making traffic arrangements, and the police ensured that the movement of passengers was not disturbed due to the protests.
2. On Friday, former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appealed to the central government to withdraw the Agneepath scheme in the wake of violent protests in many parts of the country. In a series of tweets, the Congress leader also said that the government should not play with the security forces to hide its bankruptcy. Siddaramaiah said the new Agneepath scheme for recruiting soldiers would take the youth to the path of unemployment, and it (the Scheme) will have an adverse effect on the country’s security. The BJP (led central government) should withdraw this new Scheme and recruit soldiers per the existing procedure.
3. Protests against the Centre’s ‘Agneepath’ Scheme for recruitment in the armed forces, which started from Bihar and Jharkhand, reached Odisha and West Bengal on Friday. Many unemployed youths seeking jobs torched several trains in the eastern regions of the country while many trains were stopped, resulting in disruption of train services. Apart from targeting railway properties, the protesters also attacked Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi’s house and BJP MLA’s car in Bihar.
4. A toll plaza in Didarganj on the outskirts of Patna and a police jeep in Nawada were also set ablaze. Demonstrations were also held in many other parts of Bihar. A mob of protesters torched 30 coaches of two trains at Lakhisarai and Samastipur stations and set a railway engine on fire at Bettiah. Train services on the Sealdah-Banagaon route in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district were disrupted for over an hour on Friday morning as a group of students demonstrated on railway tracks.
5. Following the violent protests in Palwal, the Haryana government has temporarily suspended mobile internet and SMS services in the Ballabhgarh area of ​​Faridabad district for 24 hours as a precautionary measure. Protests continued in Haryana’s Hisar, Narnaul, Fatehabad, and Jhajjar districts. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has warned of action against those who cause violence and damage to public property. Particularly in Rewari, Haryana, protests have been seen regarding the Agneepath scheme. At the same time, in Jind, the protesters sat on the railway tracks in Narwana. Section 144 has been imposed after protests in some districts, including Palwal, Faridabad, Rohtak, and Narnaul.
6. Karnataka Home Minister Arga Gyanendra said on Friday that his government plans to prioritize Agniveers in the recruitment of state police. These Agniveers will be recruited for short-term in the Army, Navy, and Air Force under the Agneepath scheme announced by the Ministry of Defense. Gyanendra said he believes that the Center and the states should see who is instigating violence in the performance of military service aspirants in some parts of the country.
7. Several organizations, including the Joint Employment Movement Committee and Desh Ki Baat Foundation, will protest against the Agneepath Defense Recruitment Scheme at Jantar Mantar on Monday. Organizations like the All India Students Association, Chhatra-Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA), Students Federation of India (SFI), and Aam Aadmi Party Youth Wing will also participate in the protest. Delhi minister Gopal Rai said this. Rai, the founder of Desh Ki Baat Foundation, appealed to the Center to withdraw the Scheme.
8. On Friday, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) canceled some trains due to violent protests against the Army’s Agneepath recruitment plan in Bihar and the flood situation in Assam. NFR Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Sabyasachi De said that at around 6.10 am on Friday, protesters torched six coaches of train number 15652 Guwahati-Jammu Tawi Lohit Express at Mohiuddinnagar railway station in Bihar. However, there were no reports of any casualties among the 1,169 passengers on board.
9. So far, more than 200 trains have been canceled due to protests against the Agneepath scheme related to recruitment in the armed forces. The Railways gave this information on Friday. According to the Zonal Railways, 164 trains were canceled on East Central Railway (ECR), 34 on North Eastern Railway (NER), 13 on Northern Railway (NR), and about three on Northeast Frontier Railway. Officials said that the protesters had set fire to the bogies of seven trains so far. The protesters damaged coaches of three moving trains in the ECR and an empty bogie at Kulharia in the same zone.
10. The Army, Navy, and Air Force on Friday announced the commencement of the selection process under this new format by next week as protests against the Agneepath Military Recruitment Scheme gathered momentum. Air Chief VR Choudhary said the selection process by the Air Force under the Agneepath scheme would begin on June 24, while the Army said it would formally start the process within two days by issuing a preliminary notification for the recruitment. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh appealed to the youth aspiring to join the armed forces to start their preparation.
