The makers of the forthcoming Indian film “Pushpa 2: The Rule” revealed a new poster for the sequel on social media platforms today. The poster states the film now has a planned release date of August 15, 2024.
The original “Pushpa: The Rise” starring Allu Arjun opened in 2021 to both critical and commercial success, earning over 300 crore rupees globally. The sequel’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers, hope to replicate that success.
According to netizens, anticipation for the new film has continued to build since the first film’s release, with “Pushpa 2” consistently ranking among the most hotly-anticipated Indian films of 2024 throughout the past year.
The poster shows lead actor Allu Arjun in his role as the sandalwood smuggler “Pushpa Raj,” along with the tagline “200 Days for Pushpa Raj To Begin His Rule.” This hints that filming is currently underway to make the August 2024 date.
Arjun will be joined again by co-stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Director Sukumar, who helmed the original, also returns.
The producers stated through the poster’s caption that they plan to leave “no stone unturned” in delivering another box office smash.
Specific details about the plot for “Pushpa: The Rule” remain tightly guarded secrets. But with two of India’s currently most popular stars in Arjun and Mandanna attached, Mythri Movie Makers potentially has another hit on their hands.
