Home Minister Amit Shah’s plane made an emergency landing at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Wednesday night. According to the information, Amit Shah was to reach Agartala tonight itself, but due to bad weather in Agartala, his flight had to land in Guwahati at around 10:45 am.
Shah will flag off BJP’s ‘Jan Vishwas Rath Yatra’ followed by a public meeting at Dharmanagar (North Tripura district) at 11 am. He will also have lunch at a worker’s house there. Afterward, he will go to Sabroom in South Tripura at 2 pm.
Officials said Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s flight could not land at Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram airport on Wednesday night due to poor visibility and dense fog.
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya said that Shah would reach Agartala at 11 am on Thursday to flag off the Rath Yatra from Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and Sabroom subdivision of South Tripura district. During the day, CM Manik Saha told the media, “Jan Vishwas Yatra will mark the party’s campaign for the next assembly elections, and we are happy that the Union Home Minister will flag off both programs.”
Shah will first go to Dharmanagar, where he will flag off the yatra and address a rally. Saha said that after this, he would go to Sabroom, where he would inaugurate another Rath Yatra and address a public meeting.
