First Assamese dark film Pikhaas is set to release in Hindi

Produced by Firefly Films ‘Pikhaas’ has received nominations at several national and international film festivals.

The 2024 Assamese film ‘Pikhaas’ gained widespread attention from the audience in Assam. This film introduced a new and unique concept in the Assamese film industry. The producers claim that this was the first dark movie made in the Assamese language. This film was directed by Amit Rag.

Produced under the banner of Firefly Films film, Pikhaas will now be released in Hindi after receiving a positive response at the theatres in Assam. The trailer of the Hindi dubbed film has already been released.

The Chief Assistant Director Mrinal Deka said that the dubbing of the film has already been completed. It is done in Mumbai under the leadership of Manjil Talukdar. The film will also be available on OTT platforms within a few months.

‘Pikhaas’ has received nominations at several national and international film festivals. The film stars Nirupom Saikia, Jeanette Bay, Achintya Raj Kashyap, Sashanka Sameer, Simi Ryan, Tribeni Gogoi, Mintu Baruah and many others.

This romantic thriller film depicts a story happening in today’s society and the dangerous situations arising out of love. The title song of the film is sung by popular Assamese singer Dikshu, while the lyrics are written by Bahniman and the background score is by Parag Priyam Nath. The film’s Director of Photography (DOP) is Papu Dekar, and the editing is by Hardik Kashyap.

The film’s colour mixing is done by Ratan Sheel Sharma, and the sound design is by Kingshuk Moran. The poster design is by Tasin Muntakin, while the art direction is by Bhushan and Narayan.
