A new chapter unfolded in Assam’s film industry as the mahurat ceremony for the upcoming Assamese film ‘Abhimanyu’ took place at Jyoti Chitrabon Film Studio in the city. The film, directed by Achinta Shankar and produced under the banner of Shabnams Entertainment, promises to be a significant addition to the regional cinematic landscape. The ceremony, attended by notable personalities like Aimee Barua, Manjula Baruah, Jatin Bora, MP Pabitra Margherita, Utpal Dutta, and Shivanu Bora, marked the commencement of this much-anticipated project.
The film’s narrative, crafted by Achinta Shankar, is set against the backdrop of rural life, weaving a compelling love story that resonates with the cultural essence of the region. The cast boasts talented actors, with Kamal Lochan and Deeplina Deka taking on the lead roles. Additional members of the ensemble include Rimpi Das, Rajeev Goswami, Debjit Majumdar, Hiranya Deka, Himanshu Prasad Das, Bhagwat Pritam, and others.
The mahurat ceremony featured traditional rituals such as the clapping of the clapstick by Aimee Barua, the camera initiation by Manju Bora, and the official commencement by Rajesh Bhuyan. With the shooting scheduled to kick off on January 8, the production team plans to capture diverse locations in Assam and other parts of the country, bringing authenticity to the film’s backdrop.
The film’s musical composition is entrusted to Diganta Bharti, and the soundtrack will feature soulful vocals from acclaimed artists like Zubin Garg, Papon, Priyanka Bharali, among others. ‘Abhimanyu’ is poised to offer audiences a cinematic experience that blends regional storytelling with a focus on rural narratives and timeless love stories, contributing to the rich tapestry of Assam’s cultural and artistic heritage.
