Two 19-year-old men lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving a Green Bus in Guwahati's Fancy Bazar area on Friday evening, July 3.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Boro and Jyotirmay Das. According to local residents, the two were travelling on a scooty when a Green Bus allegedly struck their vehicle from behind. The impact threw both riders onto the road, leading to the fatal accident.
Akash Boro died on the spot after reportedly being crushed under the bus. Jyotirmay Das sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the bus driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, triggering outrage among local residents. Police launched an investigation soon after the incident, and according to the latest information, the driver has been apprehended and is currently in police custody.
