In a tragic turn of events, a child lost his life in a road accident after being hit by a speeding dumper at Eklabari in the Karimganj district on Friday.
The accident occurred on the bustling National Highway 8, which connects Assam to Tripura. The victim, whose age is estimated to be between 10-12 years, was on his way to the mosque when the accident occurred.
Following the incident, a heated situation arose as locals grieved over the tragic loss and demanded better traffic control measures to ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially children.
