Three people, including a child, were injured in a road accident involving three vehicles in front of the Raha toll gate in Assam.
According to eyewitnesses, a vehicle bearing registration number AS 01BV 7321 was waiting to pay the toll when a Santro car (AS 03AA 4384) was struck from behind by a speeding Maruti Suzuki (AS 04AG 3001) coming from Guwahati towards Nagaon. The impact caused the Santro to topple onto the road and collide with the vehicle in front.
In the accident, a child traveling in the Santro, along with a woman passenger and the driver of the first vehicle, sustained minor injuries. They were provided immediate medical assistance, officials said.
Raha police reached the spot soon after the incident and took necessary action. The damaged vehicles were moved from the toll gate to ease traffic flow, and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
