In the early morning hours of Monday, the Vaishnav Pandit Lilakanta Mahanta, who had served as the former Satradhikar of Sri Sri Borkhatpar Satra, passed away in Sivasagar, in the state of Assam.
He was 92 years old. He was Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta’s father, who later became the Director-General of the Assam Police Department.
At approximately 2.15 in the morning, Sri Sri Lilakanta Mahanta took his final breath at his house in Konwarpur.
For the past three days, he had been in critical condition as a result of an age-related illness.
During the course of his life, Sri Sri Lilakanta Mahanta held the position of President of the Asom Sattra Mahasabha for a total of two terms.
