Jonjonali Baruah, a former Congress Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and a senior party figure, passed away on Tuesday in Guwahati, stirring a wave of mourning in the political sphere of Assam.
Baruah, 63, breathed her last at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Her contributions to the party and her service to the Morigaon assembly constituency, which she represented from 2001 to 2016, have been remembered and lauded by her peers in the wake of her death.
