In acknowledgment of their ability to provide passengers with wholesome, high-quality meals, the Northeast Frontier Railway’s Rangia and Mariani railway stations have been granted the ‘Eat Right Station’ certificate by the meals Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSAI).
This certification has already been given by FSAI to train stations (FSSAI awarded railway station in Assam) that meet the standards for offering passengers wholesome and safe cuisine.
Due to their rigorous adherence to the FSSAI requirements, the two stations have been granted this accreditation. The certificate will be given to Mariani Railway Station for the period of October 19, 2023, to October 18,2025 and Rangiya Railway Station for the period of September 25, 2023, to September 24, 2025.
In the meantime, in order to guarantee that its passengers receive safe and hygienic food, the North East Frontier Railway (NEFR) intends to cover more stations in order to be recognised as ‘Eat Right Stations’ by FSSAI in the future. The essential steps have already been taken by the North East Frontier Railway (NEFR). But previously, the FSSAI granted the “Eat Right Station” accreditation to NF train’s Guwahati, Harishchandrapur, and Lamding train stations.
The FSSAI certifies railway stations that adhere to industry standards for food preservation and sanitation. Once the chosen station receives a report from an FSSAI-listed third-party audit agency, the certificate is provided to them.
Through this extensive programme, FSSAI is granting Eat Right Station certificates as part of the “Eat Right India movement,” with the goal of ensuring that all inhabitants of the nation have access to safe, wholesome, and sustainable food.
