Prominent writer, journalist and lawyer Radhika Mohan Goswami posthumously conferred ‘Sahitya Jyoti’

Prominent writer, journalist and lawyer Radhika Mohan Goswami was posthumously conferred the title of ‘Sahitya Jyoti’ on Monday. The award was presented by Anuprerana, a leading social organization in Guwahati, at a function held at the residence of the prominent writer and journalist in Faujdaripatti, Nagaon.

The award was presented to the family by Dipjyoti Saikia, editor of ‘Anuprerana’ and editor of ‘Deobaria Barta’ newspaper. He is the author of several books including ‘Aparadhi’, ‘Chaknaiya’, ‘Dusta Bharya’, ‘Devatar Samadhi’, ‘Katha Aur Kahani’, ‘Ananta Pathar Yatri’, ‘Ba-Marli’ and ‘A peep to Assam’ He was the editor of the weekly newspaper ‘Alok’ published from Guwahati.

Radhika Mohan Goswami, who is also a prominent lawyer, also served as the Vice-President of the All India Bar Association. He passed away on May 20, 1991. He did not receive any official honor during his lifetime but his family is happy to be honored posthumously.

The program began with a lantern lighting ceremony in front of the portrait of the late writer by his eldest daughter and writer and social worker Rekha Sharma. The event was hosted by Dr. Anjana Goswami.
