PM Modi to inaugurates Northeast’s first AIIMS in Guwahati on April 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Northeast’s first AIIMS in Guwahati on April 14, 2023.

PM Modi will dedicate and inspect the newly built All India Institute of Medical Sciences campus and inaugurate other development projects.

Three medical colleges—Nalbari, Kokrajhar, and Nagaon—and AIIMS cost about Rs 14,000 crore. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called the institute “Ayushman Northeast” in his first photos.

PM Modi will celebrate the inauguration with Bihu dancers and drummers, making it unique. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Assam Advanced Healthcare Innovation Institute and a new Palashbari-Sualkachi bridge in Guwahati’s outskirts.

He will start the Rs 8,500 crore “Aapke Dwar Ayushman” campaign.

AIIMS Guwahati will feature 750 beds and 30 AYUSH beds for 100 MBBS students. Northeast residents will receive world-class healthcare.
