The approval comes with a two-year provisional period, after which the school will be considered for regular approval based on performance reviews.
The Sainik Schools Society reserves the right to cancel the approval at any time if the school fails to meet the stipulations laid down in the MoA and applicable Rules and Regulations.
The New Sainik School status will become effective from the date of signing the MoA between the school and the Sainik Schools Society.
Following this milestone, the school will need to conduct admissions according to prescribed regulations, with fresh admissions permitted only for Classes VI and IX each year.
One notable feature of the New Sainik School model is the option to maintain two separate verticals within the same institution—one following the Sainik School pattern from Class 6 onward and another following a different curriculum. However, if the school chooses this dual approach, activities for both streams must be conducted separately.
Students in the Sainik School stream will be required to wear a standard uniform prescribed by the SSS to maintain parity across all New Sainik Schools nationwide. The school management has the option to decide whether non-Sainik School students will wear the same uniform.
The curriculum for Sainik School students will include special subjects mandated by the SSS, focusing on physical and health education, life skills education, digital education, experiential learning, and value education with particular emphasis on national ethos.
