Mridumudra Deka, who had been undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after sustaining critical injuries in the Gangapur attack in Assam's Nalbari district, passed away on Friday morning after battling for her life for 33 days.
Mridumudra succumbed to her injuries at around 7:30 am.
She was admitted to GMCH on May 31 after being critically injured in an alleged attack by Roz Ali, a 28-year-old resident of Narsinghpur.
The incident had claimed the life of her brother, Madhurya Burman, who was killed during the attack.
Following the incident, the accused, Roz Ali, was killed in a police encounter.
With Mridumudra Deka's death, the toll in the tragic Gangapur attack has risen, bringing a tragic end to her month-long fight for survival.
