Jyotsnara Begum of Chalanabari village thrashed the Batadrava police station. Based on video footage, Jyotsnara was identified by Nagaon police, and raids were conducted at various places in the Nagaon district to arrest Jyotsnara.
Jyotsnara Begum surrendered at Nagaon Sadar police station around 4.15 pm this afternoon.
Jyotsnara had reportedly been hiding in Dhing’s Char area since the incident. But Jyotsnara surrendered before Nagaon police after the main accused in the Batadrava case, Ashiqul Islam, died after trying to escape from police custody.
On the other hand, several other accused are likely to surrender soon.
