In a horrifying incident, a 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly engaging in unnatural sexual acts with the corpse of a minor girl in the morgue of Karimganj Civil Hospital in Assam. The accused, identified as Anuj Rabidas, worked as a sweeper at the hospital.
According to reports, the body of the minor girl was brought to the morgue for autopsy after she allegedly committed suicide on the evening of April 5. Police had stated that the girl had taken the extreme step by hanging herself near her home.
However, the shocking turn of events unfolded when a doctor, who had come to the hospital to conduct the autopsy on Saturday, discovered injury marks on the dead girl’s private parts. Suspecting necrophilia, the doctor immediately informed the hospital management, leading to Rabidas’s arrest.
During questioning by the police, the accused, who is the brother of the morgue’s guard, confessed to committing the heinous act. Rabidas was subsequently taken into custody.
The family of the latest victim has demanded strict action against Rabidas and has filed a case against him. The body of the minor girl has now been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for a thorough autopsy.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many expressing outrage and demanding swift justice for the victim and her family. The authorities have assured a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action against the accused.
This tragic case highlights the urgent need to strengthen security measures and ensure the sanctity of morgues and medical facilities, where the deceased should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
