Mob Attack in Assam Village Injures Four Over Cattle Theft Claims

An angry mob left four people injured in the village of Dokoha in Assam’s Nalbari district, according to local police.

The individuals were suspected by the mob of attempting to steal cattle and violently targeted as a result. All four come from nearby villages in the Barbhag region.

Police said the mob also torched a vehicle presumed to be used by the four victims during the alleged theft attempt.

After the attack, police transported the injured to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati. All four were admitted and are being treated, although specifics on the extent of injuries remain undisclosed.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident in Dokoha village. Police officials stated the attackers were acting solely based on local claims and rumors thus far unverified.
