On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the ‘Mission Bhumiputra’ project. The administration of Assam has said that this project has been done to hand over cast certificates to the students quickly and digitally.
The Chief Minister’s Office of Assam has said that the administration aims to make it easy for people to benefit from various government projects (Public Service). As a part of this work, the project was done by the tribal and social justice department (Departments of Tribal Affairs (Plain) and Social Justice Empowerment).
Inaugurating the project, the Chief Minister of Assam said that the government would make two’ pillars’ through this.
Himanta Biswa Sharma said, “From now on, cast certificate will not be issued in ‘manual’ method.” He also said an application could be made to get the cast certificate from August 8.
The Chief Minister of Assam said, “From August 8, the Deputy Commissioners will give the ‘Format’ to the headmasters of the educational institutions to apply for cast certificate. The Headmasters will duly fill up those application forms and submit them again to the Deputy Commissioners. Then a board consisting of people of a particular caste will meet to examine those applications.
If everything goes well, the certificate will be issued. But if there is doubt in any case, then they will be sent for ‘verification.'” He said, “Those certificates can be found in Digi locker.
According to the IT Act, the certificate will have the ‘digital signature’ of the District Magistrate of the concerned area.”
Previously, residents faced many problems getting such certificates and documents before joining government jobs there. But the launch of the Mission Bhumiputra project will solve that problem. That cast certificate can be obtained in a digital mode without any problem.
The Chief Minister of Assam said that from next year, class VIII students would be able to apply for the cast certificate on a specific portal. It will be linked with the Chief Minister’s office, and the whole matter will be monitored from there. As a result, the administration claims that corruption will stop giving the certificate.
