Government of Assam has deleted all venture schools from the list of recognized or government-aided schools in the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE).
According to reports in the media, all districts in Assam have been ordered to remove these venture schools from the PM POSHAN eligible list and to stop providing rice to any schools beginning in April 2023.
In addition, all districts have been directed to remove these venture schools from the PM-POSHAN eligible list.
Students who are enrolled in government-aided and NCLP (National Child Labour Programme) schools from Bal Vatika (the year before Class 1) all the way up to Class VIII are the only ones who are eligible for coverage under the PM POSHAN (Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman) guidelines.
This reform will have an impact on more than 5,000 schools, including both primary and secondary educational establishments.
