On Friday, Chandmari Police detained a men after receiving a mental harassment complaint from popular Assamese singer Deeplina Deka.
As per the complaint, Mridul Kumar Nath allegedly harassed the singer for the past month.
Deeplina Deka told the media that the man, Mridul Kumar Nath, had been contacting her for a month. The man had called Deeplina’s management and told them to meet her.
She also added – “People keep coming to our house. Our parents also love it when fans come to our house. He stayed in our house for 2–3 hours. We know the etiquette; we can’t tell anyone to leave. I am afraid that my parents are old and live alone. They sat for three hours and left. Later I found out that he kept calling me.”
The singer also mentioned that the men used to call her very late at night and used to send SMS’s.
While stating that the media why she approached the police, she stated – “I approached the police today because it has reached its final stage. Today was the third time the man came to our house. The man is talking to himself, which is why my parents are scared. The man came to my house in the morning at 5.30 or 6 o’clock. We are all asleep. The calling bell is ringing. I didn’t get up because I was late at night, and my mother got up. My mother came and told me that the man had come. He was behaving strangely. The dress was also weird.
“The man came back home later in the evening. He came and said that he would not go until she came. I will sit for three or four days. Throwing purses, throwing phones. My mother is calling me to ask what to do now. Then I contacted the Chanmari police station. And the police came to our house and took the man away. I have filed a complaint. We are insecure. People behave strangely, they laugh, and they say the wrong things. The police are now investigating,” the singer told reporters.
It is worth mentioning that Deeplina Deka gets enormous popularity throughout the state because of her singing and acting career.
