Amit Kumar Talukdar, a Guwahati-based dental surgeon, has won two awards at the recently held Mr. Universe 2022, hosted by World Fitness Federation in Bangkok, Thailand. He won Silver in the Men’s Classic Physique Category and Bronze in Men’s Open Bodybuilding Category.
The event hosted on July 16 and 17 featured bodybuilders from several countries.
Talukdar was also a winner of the Mr. Assam Championship in 2020.
Talking to the media, Talukdar added, “A lot of discipline, dedication, and sacrifices have been made to reach here. The journey has been tough, but I would love to walk it all over again. I would like to thank my parents, friends, and well-wishers for supporting me throughout this journey. I feel proud to be the first-ever doctor to win two medals for the state and the country in this field.”

Amit’s father was also a weightlifter. Amit added that his father inspired him a lot in his journey. He also added that – Fitness is a journey, not a destination. It’s a lifestyle. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day.
It is worth mentioning that Amit Talukdar is a cosmetic dental surgeon and runs a clinic in the Narengi area of Guwahati.
As per the reports – Talukdar has now started preparing himself to win the Mr. Olympia title. Mr. Olympia is the title awarded to the professional men’s bodybuilding contest winner at Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend. The International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness holds this international bodybuilding competition annually.
