The National Center for Seismology shared information about the earthquake on X, stating, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 27-12-2023, 05:55:35 IST, Lat: 26.70 & Long: 93.22, Depth: 20 Km, Location: 42km E of Tezpur, Assam, India.”
Despite the seismic activity, there have been no reported casualties in connection with the earthquake. The region appears to have avoided significant damage, and authorities are monitoring the situation.
Earlier this month, Guwahati in Assam experienced a 3.5 magnitude earthquake. These instances highlight the seismic activity in the region, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and monitoring for local communities.
