The project is part of the Maa Kamakhya Access Corridor, which has been sanctioned under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.

Once complete, the project will offer convenient darshan facilities to the people of Assam and give great pleasure to devotees who throng the temple.

The Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana is an ambitious project that will strengthen the connectivity of Assam and the rest of the northeast with other countries of South Asia.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 11,000 crores in Guwahati, Assam, which will increase employment opportunities in the tourism sector.
